Website Design vs Website Function - What is the difference!
Website Design:
This term refers to: color, logos, graphical content, image effects, images sizes, image borders, color schemes, navigation menu layout and position. As can be seen, all of these elements are design related – they have to do with the way things look & "feel" tangibly throughout a website. Design work would thus be done by an artist or someone with artistic talent in relation to websites and marketing – essentially an artist.
Website Function:
To keep things simple, this term merely refers to: "What happens if I click on this button?", "What will the website "do" if I click "Start" on this page?", "What happens when I click Add to Cart"– These are the kind of questions to ask when dealing with Function – "what will it do?" Function refers to an "action" the website does in response to something you do (or it does automatically). This is also named User Interactive. The website will "respond" in one way or another to you.
It’s very important Website Function and Website Design are not mixed or confused – they are essentially two totally different things and should remain separate to produce a desirable result.
To sum it up, Website Design can be defined as: The way things look & feel, and Website Function can be defined as: The way things act on a website or what things do.
